Mental Health Awareness Month Activities

Week of May 8-12, 2023

Monday, May 8
Screen Free Challenge Day

Students will be encouraged to stay off their phone/social media for the day (each teacher will give each student one raffle ticket who gives up their phone for that period. Student will have the opportunity to gain up to 6 tickets by the end of the day). The attire for this day will be retro attire from 1960’s-1980’s (a timeframe where cell phone didn’t exist or not everyone had one).


Tuesday, May 9
Get Active

Students will be encourage to exercise. The attire for this day will be workout gear. Every student dressed for PE gets a raffle ticket. 


Wednesday, May 10
Self-Care Day

Students will be encouraged to practice self-care and provided with some healthy self-care tips. The attire for this day will be attire with positive affirmations. 

Thursday, May 11
Healthy Habits/Choices Day and "Get caught eating a veggie"

Students will be encouraged to practice healthy eating and the Nurse's Office will promote Diabetes Awareness and healthy eating (providing education on sugar and caffeine). Wear blue for diabetes awareness.

Friday, May 12
Stress Free Day

Students will be provided stress management tips (to deal with anxiety) to practice and to play a short 30-60 second guided meditation over the
intercom during announcements. Attire for the day will be earth tone colors to encourage calmness.
