SAT School Day, April 12 2023
Dear parents and students in grades 9, 10, and 11,
Notification: Suggestions and expectations regarding SAT School Day on Wednesday, April 12th.
In preparation for upcoming examinations, the Pupil Personnel Services Department strongly suggests that our students:
- Go to bed at a reasonable hour and get a good night’s rest
- Eat a healthy breakfast
- Know the room number and location of their exam room prior to Wednesday morning
- Arrive to school by 8:15 a.m.
- Place all coats and hats in locker
- Turn off and leave all electronic devices in their school locker*
- Enter the assigned testing room with two #2 pencils and a calculator (no other materials are allowed)
- Check into the testing room by 8:25 a.m. (students will not be allowed to enter testing room after 8:40 a.m.**)
*College Board prohibits the use of electronic devices throughout the duration of the exam. College Board suggests that we collect all student devices, but we do not have that capacity to secure all devices. Therefore, we are asking all devices to be turned off and stored in a student’s locker. Please understand a student will be removed from the test location and will forfeit their exam if:
- A student is actively using his/her phone during while in the testing room or on breaks
- A student's electronic device causes a disruption to the testing environment
If your student is removed from the test room for violating College Board’s electronic device policy, please note that you will be contacted by the Deans Office and your student will be sent home.
**Testing will begin promptly at 8:25 a.m. Students will not be allowed into the exam room once testing after 8:40 a.m. Late arriving students will be sent home and forfeit their testing opportunity.
We appreciate your support and understanding regarding SAT School Day. We anticipate that all exams will be completed, and students will be released by 1:30 p.m. Students will be released after all exams have been completed – there will be no early releases.
