Student Registration

We are excited to welcome you and your student as you begin the important process of high school registration. This is a foundational step in your student's educational journey.

The steps below are required before a students can attend classes in District 215. Students new to District 215 should begin at Step 1. Students who currently attend school in District 215 can begin at Step 4.

Please complete all required steps in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in a delayed start to student attendance.

New District 215 Students:

Pre-Registration:

All incoming students must complete the new student enrollment form before the student can be registered in the district. The purpose of this is to gather contact information and ensure demographic information for incoming students to ensure enrollment eligibility. 


Students Graduated From District 215 Feeder School:

If your student has graduated from one of the below middle schools you should have received a link to complete pre-registration.

  • Schrum
  • Wentworth

The pre-registration form will close on the second Sunday in June at 11:59PM. If you do not meet this deadline then you will need to complete the New Student Enrollment Form listed below.


All Other Students:

All freshmen/transfer students must provide an original birth certificate. Students may be required to provide proof of parental custody. You are prompted to upload a birth certificate during new student enrollment. If you have not uploaded a birth certificate please use the link below to upload a copy.

Incoming freshmen must supply a copy of their 8th grade report card along with standardized test scores from 7th or 8th grade. If the student is a freshman and/or transfer student the following documents must be submitted from your current high school:

  1. Physical/Dental

  2. Withdrawal

  3. ISBE Form 33/78 or Letter of Good Standing

  4. Unofficial Transcript

  5. Current Grades

  6. 8th Grade Diploma or Letter of Social Promotion

IF APPLICABLE:

  1. Special Ed - current IEP, last Eligibility, and last Psych Report

  2. 504 - current 504 Plan

  3. ELL - Test scores (if multiple languages are spoken, student must be tested)

Returning students to the district start at step 4.

Please use the following link or using the app to access online registration. Legal guardians of new students will receive their PowerSchool username and password by email after verification of the students birth certificate has been completed. If you do not have been provided a login, please contact support@tfd215.org

All online registration must be completed by Thursday, August 6, 2026. Failure to do so may delay the start of your students attendance and result in the loss of preferred elective courses.

Proof of residency will be obtained automatically through a service called CLEAR. Most families will not be required to submit residency documentation.

If your residency is not able to be verified you will be required to bring in additional documentation to confirm residency. Use the following link to view Residency Documents Needed.

Thornton Fractional High School District 215 is committed to maintaining accurate residency records to ensure that all students receive services fairly and in accordance with state law. As part of this commitment, High School District 215 utilizes the Thomson Reuters CLEAR Program to assist with residency verification and physically verified by Rancilio & Associates.

The CLEAR system provides real-time reporting and data analysis, including information related to individuals, vehicles, and property. This allows the High School District 215 to identify patterns of residency and helps ensure that all enrolled students meet residency requirements. Our goal is to maintain transparency and accountability while supporting the integrity of our schools and community.

We want our community to know that these efforts are in place to protect resources and ensure they are used appropriately for residents of Thornton Fractional High District 215.

Important Legal Notice: Under Illinois law, any person who knowingly or willfully provides false information regarding a student’s residency for the purpose of allowing that student to attend school in High School District 215 without paying non-resident tuition is committing a Class C Misdemeanor (105 ILCS 5/10-20.12b(f)).

All students must submit required medical documents in accordance with Illinois state law in order to attend school in District 215. Required medical documentation is listed below:

  • All new students to District 215 must have a completed copy of the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination Form and up to date vaccination record. 
  • All 9th grade students are required to submit a copy of dental records by Friday, May 14, 2027.
  • All students entering the 12th grade must submit  evidence of receiving the 2nd dose of the MCV-4 vaccination. 

All documentation must be submitted and verified by Thursday, August 6, 2026. Failure to do so will result in a delayed start to student attendance and will result in the loss of preferred elective courses. 

(Steps 1-7 must be completed prior to your school counselor appointment.)

Students will meet with their school counselor to review transfer credits, graduation requirements, and create a schedule.

Meetings will be scheduled with school counselors upon their return to the office (5 days prior to the start of school).

District 215 Student Fees & Student Fee Waiver Application

District 215 charges fees for the issue of textbooks, Chromebooks, consumable materials, some classes, and other school fees. Students will also be charged for the damage or loss of school owned materials. Fee for textbooks and other instructional material are waived for students who meet the eligibility criteria. A family will be considered for a fee waiver when the waiver application has been completed and returned to the Business Office. Students receiving a fee waiver are not exempt from charges for lost and damaged books, IDs, Chromebooks, locks, materials, supplies, and equipment. Application forms and instructions must be completed each year before a schedule is issued.
