Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we start the third quarter, please continue to support your child’s academic progress by reviewing grades and assignments on Power School.

This semester District 215 introduced its new technologically advanced learning environments at its three campuses. The Student Innovation Studios are designed to expand our students’ critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. Each Studio features 3D virtual reality interface, iMac’s, smart tablets, touch screen monitors and smart televisions in a multiple platform learning environment.

If you have not had an opportunity to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, please click here to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness at your child’s school. The survey will close on Monday, January 30. Please take five minutes to complete the survey and let us know how we are doing and how we can better serve you and your family.

Listed below are important dates to remember this quarter:

Thursday, February 16, - Parent/Teacher Conferences
Monday, February 20, - Presidents Day/No Classes Scheduled
Monday, March 6, - Casmir Pulaski Day/No Classes Scheduled

In addition to the important dates, I would like you to be aware of a special event for District 215 parents. On Saturday, February 4, the district will conduct its Third Annual: “You Matter” Parent Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Thornton Fraction South High School.  Please click here for more details.

On that morning, four interactive sessions will be offered: Make Time for Each Other, Support Good Decisions, Listen to Your Child and Special Education. In addition, there will be exhibitors, wellness seminars, general health screenings and raffle door prizes. I look forward to seeing you!

Once again, thank you for your vested interest in your child’s academic development and growth.  Let’s continue to partner together building great minds so that our students become productive citizens in society.

Respectfully,

Creg E Williams Ed.D
