Daily Announcements

Daily Announcements for November 16, 2017

Students please be aware that today, we are checking lockers. You will be called to the Deans Office if you do not have a lock on your locker or if there is more than one person using your locker.  If you do not have a lock, please come down to the Deans Office to purchase a new one. At the start of the school year the first lock was provided at no charge. If you need a replacement, it will cost you $10, which you can charge to your account. If it is evident that you are sharing a locker, it may lead to a two or three hour detention.

There will be a college representative here from Blackburn College on Monday. If you would like to learn more about Blackburn College, sign up in the Guidance Office.

Do you want a gift card…a special lunch for you and a friend…or a cut the lunch line pass for the rest of the school year? Best Buddies is running a non-perishable food drive. Bring in canned or boxed food to the Guidance Office during the month of November to enter into a raffle to win one of these great prizes. Every time you donate, you will have another entry, the more times you donate the more chances you have to win a prize!

All freshmen and sophomore girls interested in attending a Girls Conference on Saturday, December 2. Please come to the Guidance Office to get a parent permission form. Please return all permission forms as soon as possible, space is limited. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity. Girls rock!

Have you heard about The Taste of the Holidays?  It's coming up on December 1.  Make sure to get your early bird tickets.  You can buy them from CEC, NHS, or Yearbook members. Don't miss out on the tastiest event of the year!

CEC Members, there will be a meeting Monday, November 20 after school in room 203.  See you there to work on Taste of the Holidays.

Monday, November 20th at 8 a.m., GSA is having a short vigil in the LRC courtyard for Transgender Day of Remembrance. The purpose of “Transgender Day of Remembrance” is to memorialize those who lost their lives to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. This year there have been at least 27 deaths in the US alone. We take this day to remember those who have passed and always, spread love, be yourself, and keep in mind that it gets better.
