DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2018

There is only one week left until the BOOK TASTING in the LRC. It will take place on Monday, the 19th from 4-5:00 PM. Teachers, principals, and OUR NEW SUPERINTENDENT will serve up some tasty literature and fun snacks to go along with it. You must reserve your spot with Mrs. DeSoto in the LRC before the end of this week.

The Student Action Team would like to say a huge THANK YOU for all students who volunteered at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner this past Saturday!  We did an EXCELLENT job decorating, cooking and serving!  In addition to the students, we would also like to thank the following staff members who volunteered their time: Ms. Lake, Ms. Desoto, Mr. Miles, Ms. Chavez, Ms. Olson, Mr. Kawa, and Mr. Schuldes and of course Dr. Evans.  We served approximately 150 community members in need and received several comments expressing appreciation.  Job well done--we represented our school and our district well!

Student Action Team would also like to congratulate Javier Garcia Merino for being selected as the Blackhawks volunteer of the month. Javier has gone so far "above and beyond" volunteering with Student Action team that he has won tickets to a Blackhawks game! So, if you see Javier tell him "congratulations," because he deserves it!

Meteor Productions, the radio and tv production club, will be having a meeting today after school in Room 173 to take yearbook photographs.  Bring in food today for the Thanksgiving food drive.  All members should attend this meeting.  If you cannot attend, see Mr. Speski for the agenda.

Our first Badminton open gym is tonight 6:30 to 7:30. Anyone is welcome to come and be destroyed by the TFN badminton team!  So, you think you can play? We'll show you that this isn't the backyard badminton you're used to. We will be competing in a doubles tournament again. See you there.

Attention all science/environmental club students: There is a meeting after school today in room 162. We need to finalize all events for the competition so please be sure to attend. If you cannot make it or have questions, please see Mrs. Ball.
