Ms. Tasha White, Mock Trial Sponsor
Description: The TF North Mock Trial is a "junior law program" geared toward exposing students to the legal procedures involved in reviewing a court case from inception through trial. The Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) releases a court case on November 1 every year. The students are given from November through February to read the affidavits, research law statutes, and learn the legal language associated with the case. In February, the TF North Mock Trial Team competes in the 6th Municipal District's High School Mock Trial Competition against other local area high schools. The TF North Mock Trial Team competes from the viewpoint of the prosecuting attorneys, defense attorneys, as well as prosecuting and defense character witnesses.
The TF North Mock Trial team is an excellent opportunity to learn about the legal process, improve public speaking skills, increase critical thinking skills, and build self-confidence.
